![]() ![]() I created this tool that fixes both problems. The desktop app (windows and mac) cannot parse the new data. The other cause, and that's what's affecting Quik, is that the encoding of the GPS data has changed in the Hero8. There are some things you can do to mitigate this: Better camera placement (never upside down, avoid objects on top of it, look for a location with fewer buildings.) and waiting for a while beffore hitting record, to maximise the chances of a good GPS fix. The precision threshold has changed over time and might still be different across different apps (mobile vs desktop). The first one is common to all GoPro cameras, and it's that the software only displays the telemetry when it considers the GPS signal is strong enough. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns. I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. This bot will only notify you of the information the first time it sees you mentioning sd cards. ago I had this problem but i've just managed to fix it (Windows 7). If you think this reply was made in error, please simply ignore the response. On the PC connection does Quik recognize when a camera is plugged in The reason I ask is I have had the same thing happen but it (PC) would not see or recognize anything. This is an automatic response because of something you said. If you are specifically using a SanDisk Ultra, please be aware that this card has been known to VERY commonly cause issues and should be avoided at all costs. Failing to get an approved card or accdientally buying a knock-off/counterfeit card can result in slowdowns, stopped recordings, low quality, glitching video, corrupted files, total data loss, camera freezes, and boot issues. You should only use a card approved for your camera from this list. Please note: Bad SD Cards are an extremely common problem for GoPro cameras.
